With the FAs introduction of small sided games, the East London & Essex Junior Football league near Sewardstone launched in 1998, co founded by Joe Long & former QPR player Peter Hucker.
We have teams travel from all over Essex & London including Sewardstone.
Initially launched as a 7Aside League the ELE League progressed into 11Aside games in 2000, known as the league with a difference as all League and Cup Fixtures are played from the same venue each week of the football season.
Currently operating and running Leagues from Under 7s through to Under 16/17s based at Wanstead Flats and Ford Sports Club, Newbury Park near Sewardstone.
The concept of the League makes Junior Football hassle free for all involved, providing one venue, neutral officials, fixtures, governance & management along with training and coach development.

Sewardstone is a hamlet in the civil parish of Waltham Abbey, in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. It is 11.6 miles north-northeast of Central London and is in the London commuter belt. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 1128.
The area has scattered development, with large sections of open land. It is centred on the A112 road (Sewardstone Road), which connects Waltham Abbey and Chingford. The King George V Reservoir and Sewardstone Marsh form the boundary with the London Borough of Enfield, to the west. It is connected to Enfield Island Village by a footpath but not by road. A section of woodland forms the boundary with the London Borough of Waltham Forest to the south. To the east is High Beach.
